An Environment that Expects Excellence

As you can tell, I am reviewing some of Steve Jobs quotes this week and thinking about the impact he and his company has had on our world. This quote is very interesting as it speaks to the essence of our existence: Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. Now, you know the definition of some people right? Some people is all those other people and never you and I. It's like hearing our HR organizations talking about how great our leadership but you know they would be saying that same thing if they walked across to the street to another company. It seems to me there are three things leaders can do with the expectation of excellence. You can talk about it, you can demand it, or you can expect it. All three are different in so many way ways.
