Is a Two Week Notice Old School?

Is a two week notice out of style these days? We have had two people leave the group in the last month. Neither of which, gave a two week notice. One in fact, actually used our group in a way that I would classify as unethical. Maybe I am too old fashion and care too much for the company or job. Even at my worst job, I still gave a two week notice and even added my old boss as a Linkedin associate. Good thing their new employer didn't call for a reference but that too may be out of style.

I hope not. I'm not happy to read that. It's not like that here in Montreal.
