What the Enterprise 2.0 Conference failed to Address

After reviewing the slides and video’s of the 2007 Enterprise 2.0 Conference, I asked myself what is missing. What is missing from the agenda and from the other sessions that is an absolute requirement for success? Several of the speakers touched on with concepts like ROI (which was avoided like the plague), customers, and growth. But no one seemed to focus on the idea that collaboration is a business. A business that comes complete with customers (many types), suppliers, supply chain, delivery, customer interfaces, and competition. Integrating Web 2.0 technologies within the corporation can only be accomplished by treating it as a business. Perhaps that’s a topic we need to dig deeper into here.
